The original art on this tote bag features the Ideal Georgia Water Tower. The water tower on the corner of Hoke Smith Avenue and Brooks Road proudly declares that this is "The Only Ideal City in Georgia." Legend has it that Ideal was originally known as Joetown but when a visiting railroad executive declared it an "ideal" place for a depot, the name stuck. Ideal, Georgia, was incorporated as a city in 1907.
Ideal is a small town nestled in Macon County. I grew up in a neighboring town but I always remember this charming town and this old water tower depicted in the art on this tote bag reaching into the sky. If you're looking at this product, there's a better than decent chance that Ideal is a special place to you - I hope you'll share your thoughts on this art and your connection to this Ideal city.
Note, the same artwork is repeated on both sides of the tote bag. If you'd like a different image on one side or other customizations please send a message.
