Peck Ledge Lighthouse - Norwalk Connecticut Metal Print
This original Norwalk Connecticut metal print features the Peck Ledge Lighthouse in the rain. This artwork is based off a vintage photo of the lighthouse as it looked when it was newly built in 1906. It no longer retains the covered deck nor the chimney stack.
Peck Ledge Light is known variously as Peck's Ledge Lighthouse, Pecks Ledge Light, etc. The spelling and punctuation seems to vary. But the historic light is a beautiful example of a cast iron spark-plug lighthouse that is visible from Calf Pasture Beach on Long Island Sound in Norwalk, Connecticut. This particular subject was requested but I have to say as soon as I saw this old lighthouse, I was off to hunt for a vintage photo to work from. I wanted to capture the look of it as it might have been on a rainy night long ago when it was still a manned light. I fully enjoyed tackling this particular historic lighthouse.
