500 Boylston Street - Boston Greeting Card
This Boston greeting card show an image called "Caught In The Geometry" which features 500 Boylston Street. This Back Bay postmodern skyscraper was completed in 1989. This is based off one of my own photos - taken with a "fisheye" lens the wide angle causes some distortion of reality that when combined with hard architectural lines reminds me a bit of M.C. Escher. The reason I call this image "Caught In The Geometry" is the lines in the pavement and the people who are moving through the scene at the foot of 500 Boylston Street. From the position of the observer, it feels as if they are entangled in the geometrical patterns below and around them.
This Boston greeting card has always been a personal favorite because of the fun almost surreal architecture. So it has always thrilled me a bit when people purchase prints of this view of 500 Boylston Street whether it's because they are from Boston or they just love the surreal vibe.
