This walking by moonlight greeting card is titled "Almost Home." This work was actually done based on a reference image for an art contest that showed a road in Britain in the daytime. There was no moon but when I saw the empty sky and bare winter tree limbs crossing it, this moonlit scene with a night sky is what came to my mind. When I look at this I'm reminded of moonlit walks and the bracing air of cool winter nights. Oddly the one that comes to mind specifically is of a night in Ireland years back walking with fellow travelers to a nearby pub. The moon seemed so large in the dark winter night's sky. It felt honestly larger than I've depicted in this artwork.
There was a crowd of us that night but in my scene, as you can see I've pared it down to a couple walking along a dark road with their dog. Lit mainly by moonlight they are almost in shadows. At the end of the wall you can see a glowing that suggests their destination is near at hand. Home? Or maybe I should have titled it "Almost at the Pub?" Ha!
What attracts you to the image on this walking by moonlight greeting card? Does it remind you of a night with someone special? Or perhaps you just love the story it tells? I hope you'll share your thoughts.

What People Are Saying
I'm a Hill and when I saw this I just had to buy it. I have so many fond memories of spending summer weeks down in Montezuma at Nanny and Paw's store. I was so sad when the flood filled the store with water but it was a testament to the community when so many banded together to help out afterwards. Just know I bought this print to frame and take to Nanny so she can enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for making this ❤️

She Loves It!
My girlfriend just received the print, and she loves it! We both love the vibrant colors, and Forsyth Park, Savannah in general, and Tybee Island are special to us because she lives in NC and I live in FL, so every once in a while we’ll meet in the middle and explore together.
Thank you so much!
