This California greeting card features an image I consider an ode to the art of surfing. My first experience with watching people surf was on a day spent along the coast in California years ago. I had honestly never thought much about surfing one way or the other before that day but every since then I've enjoyed taking time to watch. I'm not sure I have the grace or the patience to try it but I love to watch!
This art of surfing card is based on a photo that I took during that first experience as a surfing spectator. I was on the coast at Santa Cruz and had wandered down to the water's edge with the plans to capture a few landscapes and seascapes. When I spotted a few guys paddling out I paused to watch. There was a lot of fails on my part to photograph the swift speed of a surfer cresting the wave but it gave me a lot of images to work from later! A print of this scene hung in my cube at work for years as a sort of zen reminder of the peace I felt watching those guys working on the art of surfing on a beautiful day in California.
What attracted you to the image on this greeting card? Are you a surfer or shopping for one? Or maybe you call Santa Cruz home and this scene captures a little local flavor for you?

How Can I Help?
It's important to me that you know you're dealing with a person rather than some large corporation. I'm Mark Tisdale and I've worked as an artist for over 15 years now. The bulk of that time selling my work on prints and other products has been a full-time job I love. Not only does your purchase keep the lights on in my world, it simply matters to me that you are a happy customer. In the spirt of the golden rule, I want for you what I want for myself when I purchase online. And at the end of the day, I hope you may purchase from me again in the future or refer me to your friends and family.
With that in mind, if there are any questions I can answer before you purchase, please contact me so that I can assist.
And yes, the same person whose art you are considering buying is the one answering emails and tracking your order after it ships. So if your order goes awry or arrives in a less than satisfactory condition, without a doubt I want and need to hear from you.
And as an artist if you like my style but don't see the specific subject you were hoping to find today, please do tell me what it is you're seeking.
