This Galway sunset metal print features a beautiful seaside view that is, no doubt, a familiar sight to most anyone who has visited or lived in Galway. This waterfront area is known as "The Long Walk." There doesn't seem to be any consensus as to why the quay past the Spanish Arch is called The Long Walk. Some thing it may be a corruption of Gaelic. Others have suggested it was named for the Spanish traders that frequented the harbor there. But in the rose by any other name camp, it's a beautiful stretch of seaside complete with colorful Irish homes. I was completely taken with this part of Galway and spent a lot time along The Long Walk and the Claddagh on the opposite side of the old harbor.
This has long been one of my most popular prints of Galway and indeed one of my most popular prints of Ireland in general. It is from a photo taken on my second visit to the city. The days are short in Ireland in winter, and on my first visit there on a bus tour, I only saw Galway in the dark. We arrived after sunset and left before sunrise the next morning. But I really liked Galway no matter the time of day and decided that I was coming back there after the bus tour was over. I barely made it before dark on my second trip there and so this was the first time I actually saw the waterfront in daylight! And it was dazzling! The last warm rays of the winter sun were really highlighting the colorful homes against the cool blue winter skies overhead. This alone would have made the trip to Galway worthwhile. The fact that I found the city enchanting was just icing on a two week stay there.
I would love to know what attracts you to this particular Galway sunset metal print? Does it remind you of your own experience visiting the city? Perhaps you are from there or have family roots there? Maybe you love Ireland in general and this view of the Irish seaside simply calls to you?

What People Are Saying
I'm a Hill and when I saw this I just had to buy it. I have so many fond memories of spending summer weeks down in Montezuma at Nanny and Paw's store. I was so sad when the flood filled the store with water but it was a testament to the community when so many banded together to help out afterwards. Just know I bought this print to frame and take to Nanny so she can enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for making this ❤️

She Loves It!
My girlfriend just received the print, and she loves it! We both love the vibrant colors, and Forsyth Park, Savannah in general, and Tybee Island are special to us because she lives in NC and I live in FL, so every once in a while we’ll meet in the middle and explore together.
Thank you so much!
