This harbor metal print shows a view of Boston on the water. Many of the buildings in the foreground are part of the historic docks and wharves while the modern skyline rises above them. There's little question the harbor area is a different animal than it was in the distant past. Once this area would have been filled with ships coming and going from a major port city. Today it's more a place of leisure. And I feel like the soft colors of this image capture the idyllic feel of Boston on the water on a late summer day. There's a real sense of calm and serenity beneath that big city skyline. On my first trip to Boston those many years ago, this was the area I spent a lot of time exploring. The view of Boston on the water is what still sticks with me long after.
