The artwork on this Chicago Harbor Lighthouse greeting card is based off photos from one of my trips there years ago. It features one of the historic lights from the great lakes region. From what I have read these old lighthouses are vanishing. While still a scenic and romantic subject for many of us, most lighthouses have no purpose in the modern world.
The Chicago Harbor Lighthouse was actually built for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and later moved to its current location in 1919. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in the 1980's. It hasn't been an active lighthouse since 2005 when the Coast Guard transferred it to the City of Chicago.
I sure hope at least some of these beautiful old lighthouses survive. For their history alone it's worth preserving but they are also simply a beautiful subject, aren't they?
The image on this Chicago Harbor Lighthouse card features a beautiful day with blue skies, great clouds, and a sailboat on the waters of Lake Michigan in the foreground.

About Greeting Cards

Greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. Each card comes with a white envelope.
These greeting cards may be ordered as a single card or in packs of 10 or 25 cards. If you would like to order cards in greater quantities or with other customization, send me a message.
How Can I Help?
It's important to me that you know you're dealing with a person rather than some large corporation. I'm Mark Tisdale and I've worked as an artist for over 15 years now. The bulk of that time selling my work on prints and other products has been a full-time job I love. Not only does your purchase keep the lights on in my world, it simply matters to me that you are a happy customer. In the spirt of the golden rule, I want for you what I want for myself when I purchase online. And at the end of the day, I hope you may purchase from me again in the future or refer me to your friends and family.
With that in mind, if there are any questions I can answer before you purchase, please contact me so that I can assist.
And yes, the same person whose art you are considering buying is the one answering emails and tracking your order after it ships. So if your order goes awry or arrives in a less than satisfactory condition, without a doubt I want and need to hear from you.
And as an artist if you like my style but don't see the specific subject you were hoping to find today, please do tell me what it is you're seeking.
