City Streets At Night - Chicago Aerial Greeting Card
This Chicago aerial greeting card features the city streets at night. This view reminds me of the view out of plane windows coming into the city in the evening with the streets stretching to the horizon below and feeling almost like a model city below. But rather than the view from a plane window, the image on this card shows the Chicago city streets from the Willis Tower observation deck shortly after sunset. The warm light on the horizon is all that's left of the sun having dropped over the horizon. The blue skies above are that rich shade of blue you get at dusk and dawn. Chicago feels expansive as the street lights seem to simply go on and on.
This probably dates me a bit but there's something about the city streets that reminds me of the graphics from the classic sci fi movie, Tron. Probably part of that is the very grid like structure of the streets.
