This Eilean Donan greeting card features my take on Fantasy Castle art - very much because when I saw Eilean Donan on a cold winter night, it felt like something out of a magical dream. If you've visited Scotland on holiday the chances are better than average that you've visited Eilean Donan Castle. I read somewhere that it was one of the most photographed castles in the world. I think it has a lot of picturesque qualities not least of which is sitting on the water connected by a long bridge.
Eilean Donan castle was once in ruins as it was partially destroyed during the Jacobite uprising in the 18th century. After almost 200 years it was restored, sort of, in the 1930's. I say "sort of" because whether it's true or not, I was told that Eilean Donan doesn't per se look as it did in the past so much as it fits the part of a fantasy castle, i.e. how someone in the early 20th century thought a medieval castle should look. I'm going to have to say that I don't care. Whether it's accurate to the past or not, it looks lovely even on a cold winter night.
This fantasy castle art is depicted with Eilean Donan warmly lit against a deep blue starry night sky. It looks like a beacon in the night to me.
What are your thoughts? What attracts you to the image on this Eilean Donan greeting card? I hope you'll share your thoughts.

How Can I Help?
It's important to me that you know you're dealing with a person rather than some large corporation. I'm Mark Tisdale and I've worked as an artist for over 15 years now. The bulk of that time selling my work on prints and other products has been a full-time job I love. Not only does your purchase keep the lights on in my world, it simply matters to me that you are a happy customer. In the spirt of the golden rule, I want for you what I want for myself when I purchase online. And at the end of the day, I hope you may purchase from me again in the future or refer me to your friends and family.
With that in mind, if there are any questions I can answer before you purchase, please contact me so that I can assist.
And yes, the same person whose art you are considering buying is the one answering emails and tracking your order after it ships. So if your order goes awry or arrives in a less than satisfactory condition, without a doubt I want and need to hear from you.
And as an artist if you like my style but don't see the specific subject you were hoping to find today, please do tell me what it is you're seeking.
