Historic Industrial Warehouse - Hawkinsville Georgia Art Print
The subject of this Hawkinsville Georgia art print is an historic industrial warehouse. On the day I stumbled over this what attracted me to this scenic view was the colors and the contrasting materials. Look at the brick and wood and corrugated metal and the design of the buildings.
It was later when I was looking for information that I discovered this appears to be the Rock Warehouse Company, one of Hawkinsville's historic buildings. In fact parts of the building date from the 1800's making it one of the city's oldest. It has served a number of purposes over the years including pecan shelling, ginning, as well as a lumber yard. The passage of time and changes in purpose account for all of the different additions and materials which gives this historic industrial warehouse an almost organic feel.
