The subject of this Galway Ireland art print is an Irish pub in the fog. This is based on photos from one of my nights in Galway years ago. After several foggy days, a veritable pea soup fog rolled in that simply lasted all day. By evening the streets of Galway were ethereal but beautiful. I spent hours in the fog gathering inspiration for later. I've always found fog magical, perhaps even more so in Galway, Ireland. Every street seemed to have something to see.
The pub featured in this scene is McSwiggan's - a restaurant and bar on Eyre Street in Galway City. It has a stately and settled feel even in the fog doesn't it? What I love most about this scene is the contrast between the mostly cool blue of the streets and the warm lights of the pub. You can almost look at this print and imagine the warm air hitting you as the door opens on the pub, can't you?
What captures your attention in this foggy Irish pub art print? What memories might it stir for you?
