Little Italy Sign - Boston North End Art Print
This Boston North End art print features a Little Italy sign with various Italian place names on it. I spotted this cool sign on a trip to Boston years ago. A friend had suggested I would enjoy the sights in the North End and this sign caught my eye not just because of the novelty of it but I had been to Italy in the recent past then. The North End of Boston has been home to waves of immigrants in the history of Boston. A century ago it might have been families of Irish immigrants but it's become known as Little Italy due to the waves of Italian immigrants who have since called it home. And truly as I watched a feast day parade come up the street while savoring a gelato, it was very much a taste of my Italian experience yet in Boston.
This has been one of my personal favorite prints because it reminds me both of visiting Boston and Italy in one scene.
