Old Macon County Clinic - Montezuma Georgia Art Print
Description
This Montezuma Georgia art print features the Old Macon County Clinic. This was one of the hospitals that used to serve the community. It was opened in 1934 and operated by Dr. Tom Adams and Dr. Fred Adams until closing in 1974. The two story house in the right of this print was known as the Nurse's Home and was where the Hospital's nursing staff lived.
I was happily surprised by how popular this print has been. I mainly wanted to preserve a part of the community that was slipping away. The Nurse's Home has since been demolished and the old hospital which housed a hotel for years has been empty for some time. But a lot of the people in this community still have ties to the old clinic. The reasons people have given for wanting a print have ranged from having family who worked there to being born there themselves.
