This Canada art print features a depiction of the landmark Peggys Cove Lighthouse at night. This lighthouse on Peggy's Point in Nova Scotia is considered to be one of the most recognizable in the world. Certainly it's on the lighthouse trail for people visiting this Canadian province as is the nearby village of Peggy's Cove. It stands watch over the eastern entrance of St. Margarets Bay. There's been a light here since a wooden light was built in 1868. The current octagonal tower was built in 1914.
It's depicted in this lighthouse art print as it looks today. The lantern was originally white and the lantern light has been a variety of colors in the past decades but is now red as well. The night sky above is filled with stars and the granite outcrop in the foreground is dappled with light. There's a sense of standing beneath Peggys Cove lighthouse on a starry night.
What attracts you to this lighthouse art? Have you visited Peggy's Cove or do you simply love lighthouses of all flavors? I hope you'll share your thoughts and any questions you may have.
