This Greek Revival home metal print features what is, in my mind, the epitome of southern charm. It's somewhat the Gone With The Wind myth, of course, but these classic old homes are stunning.
This southern charm artwork is based off a home in my hometown of Montezuma, Georgia. A lot of people see these old houses and think antebellum, but a fair number of them, like this one, are actually from after the civil war. In the 1880's into the early 1900's, a lot of people in the south with the means to build grand homes turned their eyes back to Neoclassical architecture again.
The Greek temple front on this old house is a classic example of the style. Built in 1885, this Greek Revival home is known locally as the DeVaughn-Lewis House or the "House on Literary Hill."
