This Glastonbury Tor metal print features St. Michael's Tower which sits at the top of the ancient tor. The site of Glastonbury Tor is shrouded in legends and it's been suggested that it is Avalon from the King Arthur myths. Glastonbury Tor is surrounded by the Somerset Levels, an area similar to the fens of East Anglia. And like the fens, it was a watery landscape before the land was drained and reclaimed in the Middle Ages. So, Glastonbury Tor would have once been an island, like Avalon.
It appears Glastonbury Tor has had a sacred role extending into prehistory, but St. Michael's Tower and its Christian heritage is comparatively recent. The first St. Michael's Church was built in the 11th or 12th century. The tower that stands at the summit of the tor today is all that remains from a 14th century church that was demolished during the Dissolution of the Monasteries during the reign of Henry VIII. The ruins of this old church make a beautiful if imposing presence looming ahead of you on the path up Glastonbury Tor.
I've only had the pleasure of visiting Glastonbury Tor once (so far) but the place really made an impression on me. If you've been, you likely know the ineffable feeling of the past that seems to fill the air. And I feel this Glastonbury Tor metal art print has captured some of the mood of the location. It's been among my more popular UK images across the years. And it's certainly a personal favorite of mine.

What People Are Saying
I'm a Hill and when I saw this I just had to buy it. I have so many fond memories of spending summer weeks down in Montezuma at Nanny and Paw's store. I was so sad when the flood filled the store with water but it was a testament to the community when so many banded together to help out afterwards. Just know I bought this print to frame and take to Nanny so she can enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for making this ❤️

She Loves It!
My girlfriend just received the print, and she loves it! We both love the vibrant colors, and Forsyth Park, Savannah in general, and Tybee Island are special to us because she lives in NC and I live in FL, so every once in a while we’ll meet in the middle and explore together.
Thank you so much!

Metal prints are a contemporary and stylish choice that will arrive at your door ready to hang.
The artwork is printed on a 1/16" thick sheet of aluminum that is then mounted on a 3/4" thick wooden frame. The wooden frame is recessed from the edge of the print giving the appearance of a thin high-gloss metal print that appears to be offset from your wall.
Each metal print is made to your order and printed using archival quality materials that should last a lifetime. Metal prints take 10 to 15 business days to produce and are shipped directly to you in sturdy packaging.
The only decision you will have to make when ordering your metal print is how large you would like it to be.
