This St Albans greeting card features The Clock Tower at the historic city center. This medieval clock was completed circa 1405 and is said to be the oldest surviving medieval belfry in England. Our guide in St Albans years ago said that the clock tower was the result of a power struggle with the old Abbey. The Abbey clock and bells can be seen and heard from the same location so there was no obvious reason for a clock tower where it was built. But the citizens of St Albans were asserting their authority over time keeping.
Regardless of motivation The Clock Tower is a picturesque sight and gives the center of St Albans a truly old world flavor. The image on this card is made more special by having been there but just the same it has a truly classic feeling of a quaint English village that has appealed to many who have never stepped foot in this city not far from London.

About Greeting Cards
Greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. Each card comes with a white envelope.
