The Custom House - Dublin Ireland 5x7 Greeting Card by Mark Tisdale.
This Dublin Ireland greeting card features The Custom House, a beautiful 18th century building. This was actually the second custom house to occupy the site. The first was built in 1707 but less than a century later was replaced by the larger Neoclassical structure we see today. Construction was started in 1781 and completed in 1791.
Even before the war for Irish independence, the large building had become obsolete. As ships grew bigger, the port of Dublin had moved further down river away from the old city. At that time it was no longer used for its original purpose but was still a government building, not only housing government offices but symbolically a part of Britain that stood in Dublin's center. As a result, the building was a target and was burned in 1921. The original interior was lost and the dome collapsed. In the decades that followed, it was rebuilt and today it houses offices for the Department of Housing, Local Government, and Heritage. It's such an imposing part of Dublin's 18th century architecture it's hard to imagine it missing from the riverfront.
I would love to hear what attracts you to the image on this particular Dublin greeting card? Are you simply a fan of the grand architecture and old world European feel? Or have you visited Dublin and it made an impression on you? Or maybe you have a different connection entirely to The Custom House on Dublin's River Liffey? I hope you'll take a second to share your thoughts.

What People Are Saying
I'm a Hill and when I saw this I just had to buy it. I have so many fond memories of spending summer weeks down in Montezuma at Nanny and Paw's store. I was so sad when the flood filled the store with water but it was a testament to the community when so many banded together to help out afterwards. Just know I bought this print to frame and take to Nanny so she can enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for making this ❤️

She Loves It!
My girlfriend just received the print, and she loves it! We both love the vibrant colors, and Forsyth Park, Savannah in general, and Tybee Island are special to us because she lives in NC and I live in FL, so every once in a while we’ll meet in the middle and explore together.
Thank you so much!

How Can I Help?
It's important to me that you know you're dealing with a person rather than some large corporation. I'm Mark Tisdale and I've worked as an artist for over 15 years now. The bulk of that time selling my work on prints and other products has been a full-time job I love. Not only does your purchase keep the lights on in my world, it simply matters to me that you are a happy customer. In the spirt of the golden rule, I want for you what I want for myself when I purchase online. And at the end of the day, I hope you may purchase from me again in the future or refer me to your friends and family.
With that in mind, if there are any questions I can answer before you purchase, please contact me so that I can assist.
And yes, the same person whose art you are considering buying is the one answering emails and tracking your order after it ships. So if your order goes awry or arrives in a less than satisfactory condition, without a doubt I want and need to hear from you.
And as an artist if you like my style but don't see the specific subject you were hoping to find today, please do tell me what it is you're seeking.
