About This Image
Vintage Empire State Building - New York City Art Print by Mark Tisdale.

This New York City art print features a vintage Empire state Building on a rainy night. It's based on an old black and white photo of New York City at night taken circa 1937. When I saw this night time view, I was inspired to create this rainy night view of the city lights of New York City on a night long ago. With a view of that landmark building, it feels identifiably NYC but the Manhattan skyline has, of course, grown in the decades since. So it's a younger New York than the one we know now. It feels something like a time machine view, doesn't it? It's hard to imagine but the Empire State Building in this artwork is basically new - construction of the skyscraper was completed in 1931.

What attracted you to this particular New York city art print? Do you love architecture? Vintage views from days gone by? Or is it down to the mood in this aerial view of the NYC skyline as the rain falls? I hope you'll share your thoughts.

The Empire State Building was added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It was the world's tallest building from its completion in 1931 until 1970. It's a beautiful building that is truly worthy of being called a landmark.

Wonderful Memories

I'm a Hill and when I saw this I just had to buy it. I have so many fond memories of spending summer weeks down in Montezuma at Nanny and Paw's store. I was so sad when the flood filled the store with water but it was a testament to the community when so many banded together to help out afterwards. Just know I bought this print to frame and take to Nanny so she can enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for making this ❤️

She Loves It!

My girlfriend just received the print, and she loves it! We both love the vibrant colors, and Forsyth Park, Savannah in general, and Tybee Island are special to us because she lives in NC and I live in FL, so every once in a while we’ll meet in the middle and explore together.
Thank you so much!
