This New York City greeting card features a vintage Empire state Building on a rainy night. It's based on an old black and white photo of New York City at night taken circa 1937. When I saw this night time view, I was inspired to create this rainy night view of the city lights of New York City on a night long ago. With a view of that landmark building, it feels identifiably NYC but the Manhattan skyline has, of course, grown in the decades since. So it's a younger New York than the one we know now. It feels something like a time machine view, doesn't it? It's hard to imagine but the Empire State Building in this artwork is basically new - construction of the skyscraper was completed in 1931.
What attracted you to this particular New York city greeting card? Do you love architecture? Vintage views from days gone by? Or is it down to the mood in this aerial view of the NYC skyline as the rain falls? I hope you'll share your thoughts about the image on this card.
The Empire State Building was added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It was the world's tallest building from its completion in 1931 until 1970. It's a beautiful building that is truly worthy of being called a landmark.

How Can I Help?
It's important to me that you know you're dealing with a person rather than some large corporation. I'm Mark Tisdale and I've worked as an artist for over 15 years now. The bulk of that time selling my work on prints and other products has been a full-time job I love. Not only does your purchase keep the lights on in my world, it simply matters to me that you are a happy customer. In the spirt of the golden rule, I want for you what I want for myself when I purchase online. And at the end of the day, I hope you may purchase from me again in the future or refer me to your friends and family.
With that in mind, if there are any questions I can answer before you purchase, please contact me so that I can assist.
And yes, the same person whose art you are considering buying is the one answering emails and tracking your order after it ships. So if your order goes awry or arrives in a less than satisfactory condition, without a doubt I want and need to hear from you.
And as an artist if you like my style but don't see the specific subject you were hoping to find today, please do tell me what it is you're seeking.
