About This Image
West Village Architecture - New York City Metal Print by Mark Tisdale.

This New York City metal print features West Village architecture from the corner of 7th Avenue and 14th Street. Years ago, I named this particular print "Generic New York City." Not because it was boring but because of a story that happened on one of my tours of New York City. The tour guide became flustered when the bus was detoured down a street for which she had nothing prepared to say... She sat in silence for a bit... and finally said, "this... this is generic New York..." I loved the term and it became an inside joke with friends the rest of the trip. Anytime I saw something that I thought was quintessential New York City, like these rooftops and building facades, I would call it Generic New York.

And to me the scene from this West Village metal print is definitely the essence of New York. This is the New York City where people live and dream. And I daresay the New York City that many of us who live far away picture whether we've ever set foot in NYC or not. From the pre-war brick architecture to the air conditioners hanging out of windows and, of course, those classic water tanks.

What attracted you to this particular New York City image? Do you call this part of Manhattan home? Or do you, like me, simply love the style of generic New York?

Wonderful Memories

I'm a Hill and when I saw this I just had to buy it. I have so many fond memories of spending summer weeks down in Montezuma at Nanny and Paw's store. I was so sad when the flood filled the store with water but it was a testament to the community when so many banded together to help out afterwards. Just know I bought this print to frame and take to Nanny so she can enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for making this ❤️

The Fox Theatre is Definitely FABULOUS! THIS BLACK AND WHITE VERSION GIVES EXTRA NOSTALGIA I believe, is why I picked this 1, though I love ALL OF Mark's pics of the Fox. She Loves It!

My girlfriend just received the print, and she loves it! We both love the vibrant colors, and Forsyth Park, Savannah in general, and Tybee Island are special to us because she lives in NC and I live in FL, so every once in a while we’ll meet in the middle and explore together.
Thank you so much!

Metal Prints - Back Frame

Metal prints are a contemporary and stylish choice that will arrive at your door ready to hang.

The artwork is printed on a 1/16" thick sheet of aluminum that is then mounted on a 3/4" thick wooden frame. The wooden frame is recessed from the edge of the print giving the appearance of a thin high-gloss metal print that appears to be offset from your wall.

Each metal print is made to your order and printed using archival quality materials that should last a lifetime. Metal prints take 5 to 7 business days to produce and are shipped directly to you in sturdy packaging.

The only decision you will have to make when ordering your metal print is how large you would like it to be.

How Can I Help?

It's important to me that you know you're dealing with a person rather than some large corporation. I'm Mark Tisdale and I've worked as an artist for over 15 years now. The bulk of that time selling my work on prints and other products has been a full-time job I love. Not only does your purchase keep the lights on in my world, it simply matters to me that you are a happy customer. In the spirt of the golden rule, I want for you what I want for myself when I purchase online. And at the end of the day, I hope you may purchase from me again in the future or refer me to your friends and family.

With that in mind, if there are any questions I can answer before you purchase, please contact me so that I can assist.

And yes, the same person whose art you are considering buying is the one answering emails and tracking your order after it ships. So if your order goes awry or arrives in a less than satisfactory condition, without a doubt I want and need to hear from you.

And as an artist if you like my style but don't see the specific subject you were hoping to find today, please do tell me what it is you're seeking.
