This original Ireland art print features a view of the 19th century Wicklow Head Lighthouse. Built in 1818, the light is still in active use but has been automated for decades. It was built to replace a pair of lighthouses that were built higher up on the headland in the 1700s.
The Wicklow Head lighthouse is depicted on a sunny morning with the rocky coast rising up from the waters of the Irish Sea. The rugged coast seen in this art print reminds me a lot of Ireland and Scotland as well. There's just something about it that feels ancient and storied, isn't there?
Have you visited this beautiful lighthouse in County Wicklow in Ireland? Or maybe you are simply a fan of lighthouses as I am? There will always be something magical to me about the sight of these old coastal sentinels.
